IKEA TRYSIL: spare parts for the bed and sliding wardrobe

IKEA TRYSIL: spare parts for the bed and sliding wardrobe

The TRYSIL range covers the complete bedroom: bed frame, sliding wardrobe, bedside table. White melamine panel, Nordic design. Two distinct mechanical systems, two failure logics. This guide covers the critical parts and documented problems with this model.

Which TRYSIL model do you have?

Item Dimensions / variants
Bed frame 140 cm / 160 cm
2-door sliding wardrobe 79 x 61 x 202 cm
4-door sliding wardrobe + 4 drawers 118 x 61 x 202 cm
Bedside table 45 x 40 x 53 cm

The article number is located under the furniture or inside a side panel. It is the only reliable identifier for ordering a TRYSIL spare part.

Critical parts of the TRYSIL bed frame

Mounting plates: two generations, two references

The mounting plates connect the headboard, footboard and side rails. They break during moving or disappear during reassembly. The TRYSIL shares these parts with SONGESAND, ASKVOLL, BRIMNES and HASSELVIKA.

Two references depending on the generation:

  • #139301 — mounting plate (initial generation)
  • #116791 — mounting plate (recent generation, galvanized steel)

These two references are not interchangeable. Compare the shape before ordering. The #116791 is the most available from third-party suppliers.

The associated screws have the reference #105307 or #110789. A plate without its correct screws will not hold. Verify that the kit includes the corresponding screws.

Dowels and frame screws

The panels are assembled with wooden dowels (alignment) and panel screws (fixing). The dowels often break when disassembled — they remain stuck in the panel. Standard IKEA 5 mm dowels are available in hardware stores. Check the length on the original part.

Critical parts of the TRYSIL wardrobe

The sliding wardrobe introduces two types of parts absent from classic wardrobes.

Top rail

The top rail is screwed to the top of the wardrobe. It guides the doors along their entire course. A warped or poorly fixed rail is enough to block the doors or derail them. The problem is frequent: a 3D-printed replacement model has even been published open source on Printables.com.

Bottom rollers

The rollers are fixed to the bottom of each door. They support the entire weight of the door. These are the first parts to wear out — or break if a door is forced.

Rule: always check top rail and rollers together. A new roller on a damaged rail solves nothing. Have the complete article number ready before contacting IKEA or a third-party supplier (IKParts, FurnitureParts.com).

Common problems

Sliding doors that derail

This is problem number one with the TRYSIL wardrobe. Causes in order of frequency:

  1. Broken or worn roller — the door drops on one side, rubs, jumps.
  2. Bottom rail misaligned — the groove is not in line with the door.
  3. Wardrobe not fixed to the wall — the slightest movement misaligns the top rail.

Point 3 is underestimated. Some TRYSIL models do not have a back panel. Rigidity depends on wall fixing. The instructions require it — it is not an option. An unfixed wardrobe deforms under the weight. Sufficient to lose the alignment of the rails.

Check before any replacement:

  1. Wardrobe fixed to the wall.
  2. Verticality checked with a level.
  3. Bottom rail inspected along its entire length (deformation, debris).
  4. Rollers inspected last.

Bedside table: fragile feet

The feet and dowels of the bedside table come loose as soon as you move the furniture often. Never lift by the top. Do not pull on a blocked foot: unscrew first, then separate.

Bed that creaks

The nocturnal creaking rarely comes from the mounting plates. First check the contact points between slats and supports. Felt washers at the friction points solve the majority of cases. If the creaking persists, check the tightening of the plates.

Compatibility with other IKEA furniture

Compatible IKEA model Shared parts
SONGESAND Plates #139301 / #116791, screws #105307
ASKVOLL Plates #139301 / #116791, screws #105307
BRIMNES Plates #139301 / #116791
HASSELVIKA Plates #139301 / #116791

A plate listed for a SONGESAND or ASKVOLL works on TRYSIL in the vast majority of cases. Check the generation before ordering.

FAQ

Where can I find the TRYSIL assembly instructions?
On the IKEA product page, in the "Assembly instructions" section. Also on manuall.fr. There are separate instructions for the bed and for the wardrobe — make sure you download the correct one.

How do I know if my TRYSIL rollers need to be replaced?
Remove a door from its rail. Rotate each roller by hand. A healthy roller turns freely. A worn roller has lateral play, a blockage or an irregular rotation.

Can the TRYSIL wardrobe stand without wall fixing?
It stands upright, but an unfixed wardrobe risks tipping over. It will gradually deform under the weight. The rails will lose their alignment. Wall fixing is in the instructions — do it during installation.

Are TRYSIL spare parts available at IKEA?
Yes, via the spare parts service online or in store, with the complete article number. For sliding door rollers and rails, third-party suppliers (IKParts, FurnitureParts.com) often deliver faster than the IKEA circuit.

Can a roller be replaced without changing the rail?
Yes, if the rail is intact. Inspect the groove of the bottom rail along its entire length before ordering only the rollers.
